We look forward to seeing you in Australia in 2018!
400 delegates from 23 countries and representing 125 hospitals converged on Atlanta for our Global Adolescent and Young adult Cancer Congress - the first time it has ever been held in the USA!
World class speakers such as Drs Joe Simone, Archie Bleyer and Stuart Siegel, covering a diverse range of topics from the latest scientific research to helping young cancer patients deal with sexuality and relationships after treatment, delivered high calibre presentations throughout the three day meeting. Young people with cancer were also an integral part of the meeting, co-chairing sessions and sharing their personal experiences with a professional audience that included doctors, scientists, nurses, psychologists, and other allied health professionals.
Sponsored by philanthropy, academia, and commercial partners; delegates were able to wander through a beautifully designed exhibit space that included 170 abstract posters submitted and exhibitions of best practice and innovation. CNN and a number of health journals have covered the event and the delegate feedback has been extraordinary! The message throughout was that adolescent and young adult oncology is an important and growing specialty that requires focused investment to improve outcomes and survival.
